Fundraising to Preserve the Linden Hill Estate

Update: As the Friends of Linden Hill board of directors and staff have been continually discussing the most responsible course of action for the organization amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, difficult decisions are having to be made. Ensuring the safety and health of our volunteers, visitors and staff is the #1 priority as they are what give life to the Linden Hill estate. While we have had to make the decision to cancel fundraising events such as the High Tea, the Plant Sale and the Evening in Black and White, we know that it so important to do our part in flattening the curve to protect our loved ones. In addition to cancelling fundraising events, we have had to cancel or reschedule 2-3 months of private estate rentals, leading to a noticeable loss in our operating income. To counter this loss, the organization has ordered a freeze on any non-essential spending and the staff has been working to cut expenses in a number of other ways. As we look forward to the future, we still hope to begin pavilion renovations that will add to the life of the structure and provide a unique, indoor-outdoor shelter that can be utilized for future fundraising events, weddings, garden parties and so much more!

Thank you for continuing to be a HUGE part of making this organization successful in its mission to preserve and share the Musser/Weyerhaeuser estate on the Mississippi River. Continue reading to learn more about our mission and vision for preserving this incredible place.

The Friends of Linden Hill has been diligently working for the past 13 years to actively preserve and share a historical landmark of Central Minnesota. The Musser and Weyerhaeuser families made Little Falls their home for years as they provided jobs, aided in the development of the town and contributed their valuable time and resources through their lumber business, The Pine Tree Lumber Company. The Friends of Linden Hill are working to preserve not only the two stunning 1898-built mansions and out-buildings scattered throughout the 9-acre estate, but also the spirit of generosity and hospitality that the families were known for throughout their lives.

The Linden Hill estate has much to offer our local community and beyond, including seasonal historic tours, education programs, volunteer opportunities, space rental for private events, family-friendly events and a variety of fundraising events (just to name a few). The organization is membership-based with both monthly and annual giving options for supporters. Members are entitled to a variety of benefits including a free tour, discounts to Laura Jane's Gift Shoppe, a quarterly newsletter and more! To become a member, visit our website: http://linden-hill.org/become-a-member.html

As we work together to maintain, improve and restore the estate to its original glory, we are well aware of the time, labor and funds it takes to make that happen. This labor of love can only continue through the support and generosity of people like you who care about making the world a better place for us, our children and for future generations of visitors.

Thank you for your support!
